- I have learned so much about technology. I didn't know about half the sites, apps and blogs on the web. I will definitely be keeping all the ones required for class. The RSS Readers and iGoogle are awesome. I now use my iGoogle Homepage after I had to make it. I love all the Google things! All of them are useful and very helpful in everyday things. I also loved the GoodReads website I found during the 23 Things. As a big reader I love that I can keep up with what I have and haven't read and reviews on book that I want to read.
- I don't really like the LiveBinders but I like that I have learned about them. Maybe I will work with it a little more and understand its potential better.
- This has been quite an experience and I have learned a lot that I can take with me. The 23 Things list is definitely worth while. Everything I have learned from The 23 Things list has taught me so much that I can use in my classroom. Like blogs can be useful in the classroom. The teacher can be able to keep parents updated and students on track with a daily blog webpage. Almost all the applications I have been introduced to I will be using in my classroom in one way or another.

The End of the 23 Things
Thing 23
Learning 2.0-23 Things blog was based on 43 Things I might want to do this year. And Our 23 Things is based off of 23 Things for teachers. 43 Things is the idea of working on one's own progress for personal goals. It is really cool and really fun. I am going to try to complete the 43 Things this summer or at least get started on it. You will know if I do them because I will post everyone of them on here.
Thing 22
Being organized is very important especially as a teacher. This website LiveBinders is very useful in keeping you organized if you know how to use it. I think I still have some work to do with it but I have it pretty much figured out. As a teacher I could have my students use this as a way of turning in their homework or keeping a log of what they do in class by uploading completed assignments before they leave class.
My first Live Binder is my Educ 3070 binder. I have put my unit plan and my lesson plans in it and anything that went along with it.
My second Live Binder is my Educ 3040 binder. I have included all my projects in my binder. I am still putting links and resources in but it is a good way to be able to look back at what i have learned in this class.
My third Live Binder is my Educ 4270 binder. I have included all my assessment projects. These were time consuming and hard but worth while.
All of my folders are public and free for people to look at. I could not get blogger to let me embed my folder but this is the link to my public bookshelf.

Thing 21
Madison
This is a video a made of my daughter Madison. I made it at Animoto.
The website was easy to use. The one thing I didn't like about it was that I was limited because it requires a subscription to do all the good stuff.
Though it was easy to use, 30 second videos are only good for certain things. I would really have to consider paying before I subscribed.
Thing 20 YouTube
The Best Educational Video Sites and How to Use Them
This video provides teachers with good educational websites and how to use them.
This can be useful in the classroom. Their are websites for educational games and educational videos and how to use the websites.
I use YouTube often so this was no new experience. I can say that my experience with YouTube has always been good that is why I still use it almost daily to look up videos about everything.
I have explored TeacherTube and GoogleVideo and they are good video websites to use also.
Thing 19
I am a member of facebook, twitter, teacherpop, playlist.com and Good reads.
GoodReads is interesting to me because I love to read in my free time. I like to read books in a series rather than a book that is all alone. A series allows the reader to become absorbed in the characters life and get lost in the magic of imagination. Also I really only like fantasy books. They allow me to escape from the real world when I read the. They also allow me to explore and use my imagination.
I also found Playlist cool because now I have my playlists online and can listen to music or find a song wherever I am.
I think that I may be able to get my students to join GoodReads because it is a book sharing website that allows people to know what others have read and whether the books were good or now. GoodReads also allows you to keep track of all the book you have read. Students can keep track of what they have read their whole life if they wish too.

Thing 17
I found Del.icio.us interesting and user friendly. I like having bookmarks online so that I do not have to be on my personal computer. I have a lot of bookmarks on my personal computer at home. I love bookmarking. I used to write all websites down or copy and paste them in a word document to be able to use them later until I was introduced to bookmarking. I used to be technologically stupid and my 3040 class has helped a lot along with friends that are technological geniuses.
Social bookmarking can be used in the classroom. Social bookmarking can be used to provide links to websites to students, parents and colleagues. You can provide educational websites for your students, websites with great course materials with colleagues, and informational websites with parents. All websites you share with your students can be shared with parents and colleagues as well as websites your share with parents can be shared with colleagues and sometime students.

Thing 15
I found wikis useful but confusing at the same time. They can be useful but not always correct. I had a really hard time figuring out how to use the wikis.
I found that students can share educational information and their personal opinions about it with fellow students and teachers. That would have been useful when I was in school. I have been looking for more wikis that are helpful to me and my concentration in teaching.
I would create a wiki for my class so that they can find information they may need or want to know and so they can share their researched information with others. This could help my students to do better in class.

Thing 18
Facebook
Twitter
It is important for educators to know how social networking works because it is how to communicate and keep contact with students, parents, faculty and staff. Teachers can have a professional facebook account and a personal facebook account in order to keep their professional and personal lives separate. Teachers can use their professional facebook cite to post homework or lesson information. This also allows students to speak with their teacher if they missed class. Teachers can set up a time that he or she will be on facebook, or twitter, that students know they will be able to talk to the teacher if they have questions about homework or class. This also allows parents to pose a question about school that they can make public or message it to be private. This allows parents to see what is going on in class and what the students are doing the next week or to post links to helpful online tools they may have found for other parents as well as the teacher.
I feel that facebook is better than twitter academically in that if parents want their comments and conversation with a teacher to be private twitter does not offer that. Facebook has multiple uses and is less confusing. I am still trying to understand twitter but facebook is blunt and in your face.

Thing 16
I chose iGoogle for my start page I had fun playing around with it and designing it. I need to customized it some more but that is going to take tons of time. I chose iGoogle because I use google for everything already so this way I know it will be useful. The best part about it is that it is online so I can access anything on it if I have internet which is not hard to find these days.
I created a to do list on Ta da list. It was so easy and I made it in like 2 minutes. There is no catch and no tricks to it. It is just an online to do list that you can access from anywhere. I love ta da list. I need it on my phone.
An online calendar can be useful in that you don't have to be at home to look at your calendar for the week or the month. Everything is online so if your at work you can still check it. If you have internet on your phone you can still check it. I really like having an online calendar cause I'm always forgetting important dates and now I won't hopefully!
I found all the gadgets and online productivity tools helpful and useful the only problem I found is that some were only free for 30 or 60 days and then you had to pay monthly. That does not seem right. I'm not willing to pay someone to look at and sort through my to do lists and calendars. Can you say stalker. No thanks.

Thing 14
Using MindMeister I created a Mind Map for 3rd grade writing on the steps of the writing process. I found using MindMeister was easy. I also used bubble.us. I found that easy as well. Mind Maps are useful for creating webs for lesson plans or for teaching concepts in the classroom.
The Writing Process
Flowcharts are good for organizing something in order for a lesson. They can be used in lesson plans or to teach cycles such as the water cycle or the writing process. I found MindMaps more fun however, for kindergarden and first grade students a Flow Chart will make more sense and be less confusing.

Thing 13
Zoho Writer to me was a little confusing at first but the more I worked with it, the more I understood it. Zoho had pretty much the same tools at Word but I still find it difficult to use. When compared to Google Docs, I would have to say that Zoho is more difficult and more confusing.
I really like how it is like Microsoft works online. I was able to make a powerpoint presentation in google docs and it was so simple. I can also copy my slides from my presentations on my desktop to my google docs and have it available. This way I can have something prepared even though I may not have internet at the time.
Google Docs
I prefer Google Docs over Zoho. I couldn't really figure everything out that well.
Students can use Google Docs to share their works and to give each other feedback about their work. If students are working in groups this is a good way to create a presentation online when group meetings are difficult.

Thing 12
This was interesting. I created an iGoogle homepage. It was fast and easy.
The google translate was cool. I searched for something in French and had it translated to English. I can also have English translated to Spanish. This could be really useful as a teacher. I can turn assignment and tests into an understandable assignment or test for and ELL student. Also for when I need to right a letter to a parent that does not speak English I can have it translated and then send it to them or if they send me one and I can't understand it I can have it translated and be able to work the parents better.

Thing 11
- I found using Google Blog Search the easiest to use. I had a hard time figuring out how to find the blogs I wanted. I wasn't wording things right. I was looking for educational blogs so I typed into the search box "education" that didn't work I got like 1 blog that was useful. When I typed in "educational techonology" or "learning 2.0" I got a lot of blogs. It isn't hard to find blogs you just have to know what you are looking for.
- They were all confusing at first but once I figured one out, I got the idea of all the other search tools.
- I found a website that gives information about video games and children and how to work with the techonological generation of our time. This was eye opening. It's funny because a lot of stuff is true. My daughter understands technology better than me and she is 7.
- I had fun looking for blogs and newsfeeds to read about. There are many useful blogs and newfeeds out there. I will definitely be using these search tools again to find anything I need in the future.
Thing 9
I made this at HappyFaceGenerator.com and for anyone who really knows me, well, this sign totally makes sense and is completely me. I talk a lot. My husband tells me to shut up a lot or he just tunes me out cause I "Babble" a lot.
This was easy to make and I picked something Madison would like. I used the comic strip generator to make this. The hardest part is picking the right frame or template. It is fun to get creative though.
These Logo signs were easy to make at SpiffyText.com. There were so many fonts, styles, tricks and backgrounds to choose from. I played around for a long time before I found the perfect layout for me.
The first one is my husband's nickname (still don't understand that one), but he likes gold and wild stuff so I made one with gold lettering and a wild background. The second one is my name and I really like colorful stuff so the style of my name was easy to decide on but it was hard to find a background that worked with it without masking it.

These websites and image generators would be really useful for the classroom. I can make signs and posters for the walls. I can also make fun games with them if I get creative enough. These generators are funny and handy.
Thing 10
- After messing around with RSS and newsreaders, I have learned a lot. I really like how I can keep up with several different blogs on one page. This makes it easier to keep up with all the blogs I like and want to subscribe to without having to search for them and then read them. I can even read them on my if I download the application. \
- This will be useful in school in that I can set up blogs to subscribe to that give good advice and information about school things. They can keep me updated better than the news I am sure. I never watch the news but I am always on my computer.
- It is a good way to communicate with students. If you have students set up a blog and them subscribe to all their blogs they will all be right there at your fingertips and you can also have them subscribe to your blog and you can put up helpful hints or tools for homework and studying. It can also be used as an updated planner online. You can post reminders and parents should be a part of it all as well. Teachers can also share information for classes and post ideas for teachers all over to use and apply in their classrooms.
- I feel that blogs are a faster way to communicate than through email.
Thing 8 Mashups
I found this image using flickr color pickr. I really like this shade of blueish green so I picked it and I love bubbles so when I seen this picture I was so excited. This was a great way to find things in a specific color. This would definitely be useful for projects that deal with colors, especially for a kindergarten or first grade class. This would make learning colors fun and it will also teach what things your child's favorite color.
I think sharing photos online is ok if used the right way. When people start putting pictures up that should be kept to themselves, they just degrade themselves to less than what people saw them as. Photo sharing online is a good way to share photos with family members that live far away.

:Love Should Be Enough
I chose this picture because it touched base with me.
I read the words and sat back and thought about it.
For a lot of people LOVE is not enough. So many people are shallow and only see looks.
You cannot love someone if you do not see past how they look. This phrase just spoke to me.

Why Commenting is important (Thing 4)
- Commenting is a great way to create a sense of community. Commenting also allows you to put your thoughts and ideas about someone else's posts out there for them to think about. commenting can be giving someone advice, agreeing with someone, or just giving someone a pat on the back.
- I loved the blog post How to comment like a king (or queen). This really helped to understand why commenting is so important and how to comment to encourage conversation. I also liked the 10 Techniques to get more comments on you blog post because it showed me how to write a blog that will generate thought and get my followers to want to comment back.
- I am currently following Casey Estes, Megan Abbott, Conrad C'deBaca, and Dillon and Korina Biemesderfe. These blogs were interesting and found I enjoyed hearing what they have to say.
- I commented on blogs that were stimulating and left me wondering, or I commented to say I agree, or I just gave advice in general.
Thing 3
Using a blog in my teacher education program is a great idea and there are many ways to do so.
I am sure there are many more ideas for using a blog now and in my future classroom. Any ideas are welcome. Any comments and questions are welcome.
- Write something i learned from another teacher that may be helpful to other future teachers.
- I can describe my training experiences.
- Provide teaching tips the I learn or come up with on my own for others to see.
- I can just express general feelings or concerns about topics and recent events related to my program.
- It is a way to interact with my fellow students in my program.
- It is a good way to interact with students and their parents on a daily basis.
- I could post questions for parents to respond to. This makes the parent feel involved even if he or she cannot participate in in-school activities.
I am sure there are many more ideas for using a blog now and in my future classroom. Any ideas are welcome. Any comments and questions are welcome.
Thing 2
- I had fun creating my blog and avatar. For those who know me well will feel that my title suits me because I tend to babble about nonsense. I have never had a blog before but I am looking forward to having this blog and using it. It was really easy to create my blog. The instructions on Mrs. Wall's website are very helpful.
- Creating my avatar was fun. My avatar reflects what I see in myself. I think my avatar looks like a sophisticated and classy teacher :p. I hope one day this is what I really look like.
- Blogs are a good way to get an opinion out there for others to read and for you to get feedback on it.
Thing 1
After doing the 7 & 1/2 Habits Tutorial I feel that the hardest habit for me would be habit 1. I'm not quite sure how well I can begin with the end in mind. I like doing things one at a time in order. When I start thinknig of the end I get confused. That is something I will have to work on. The easiest would be viewing problems as challenges. I already do that. There is no point to freak about a problem. See it as a challenge, figure out how to overcome it, and then react.
I want to learn anything and everything possible about Web 2.0. As technology becomes more and more important to the education world, I have to work harder to understand technology.

Web 2.0 sites (Thing 6)
As I explored all the various sites on Web 2.0, I was shocked at how many there were that were actually really useful. I really liked Zoho. Zoho is an online source that has over 20 free web-based productivity applications such as online invoicing, spreedsheets, presentations tool, and many more. As I explored the website, I was intrigued by how useful it is. I even created an account and bookmarked it. There is just so much use in it. I would like for others to check it out and let me know what you think of it or even tell your friends and family about it.
I also liked Open Table. Open Table is an online reservation service. You can cut out making a trip or an aggravating phone call and make your reservations online. You can also rate different locations and read ratings for the places you are headed. I also bookmarked this one. I found it very useful.
There were many that I found useful for students and teachers. There is just so much to look over. For anyone who is not in my 23 things group follow this link to The 2009 Webware 100 list and explore all the great useful websites.

Web 2.0 (Thing 6)
The idea of Web 2.0 is marvelous. Web 2.0 is the idea of integrating technology more into the classroom. I love this idea. As a future teacher I feel that it would help me stay connected with parents and students. I also feel that it will increase the rate of homework submitted. I personally like submitting my work online rather that in class. Being in college and having to do online discussion boards as homework has actually helped me in school. When it is a requirement to submit a post, the student will post something to get a grade. Most of the time that is what most of my Professors are looking for; to see if I took part in something and engaged myself in the conversation. Web 2.0, Teach 2.0, Learn 2.0, School 2.0 is all the same and is the future of teaching and learning. My daughter is 6 and can email and find things on the computer better than I can sometimes. When it comes to video games I prefer the original Nintendo. Hopefully I can keep up with all the technology advancements as I continue to work towards a teaching career.
School 2.0 (Thing 5)
School 2.0 to me is the process of bringing the classroom into everyday life and events. Instead of just learning at school the child is learning from everything all around in his or her environment. School 2.0 is a wonderful idea. It gives the freedom to learn in your own way. Some students may learn better in a home like setting so learning at home is a great idea. Pulling everything together to provide learning opportunities is something I wish I had when I was younger.
