Web 2.0 sites (Thing 6)

As I explored all the various sites on Web 2.0, I was shocked at how many there were that were actually really useful. I really liked Zoho. Zoho is an online source that has over 20 free web-based productivity applications such as online invoicing, spreedsheets, presentations tool, and many more. As I explored the website, I was intrigued by how useful it is. I even created an account and bookmarked it. There is just so much use in it. I would like for others to check it out and let me know what you think of it or even tell your friends and family about it.
I also liked Open Table. Open Table is an online reservation service. You can cut out making a trip or an aggravating phone call and make your reservations online. You can also rate different locations and read ratings for the places you  are headed. I also bookmarked this one. I found it very useful.
There were many that I found useful for students and teachers. There is just so much to look over. For anyone who is not in my  23 things group follow this link to The 2009 Webware 100 list and explore all the great useful websites.

Web 2.0 (Thing 6)

The idea of Web 2.0 is marvelous. Web 2.0 is the idea of integrating technology more into the classroom. I love this idea. As a future teacher I feel that it would help me stay connected with parents and students. I also feel that it will increase the rate of homework submitted. I personally like submitting my work online rather that in class. Being in college and having to do online discussion boards as homework has actually helped me in school. When it is a requirement to submit a post, the student will post something to get a grade. Most of the time that is what most of my Professors are looking for; to see if I took part in something and engaged myself in the conversation. Web 2.0, Teach 2.0, Learn 2.0, School 2.0 is all the same and is the future of teaching and learning. My daughter is 6 and can email and find things on the computer better than I can sometimes. When it comes to video games I prefer the original Nintendo. Hopefully I can keep up with all the technology advancements as I continue to work towards a teaching career.

School 2.0 (Thing 5)

School 2.0 to me is the process of bringing the classroom into everyday life and events. Instead of just learning at school the child is learning from everything all around in his or her environment. School 2.0 is a wonderful idea. It gives the freedom to learn in your own way. Some students may learn better in a home like setting so learning at home is a great idea. Pulling everything together to provide learning opportunities is something I wish I had when I was younger.
